gold has a vision: To see a generation of ethical young African leaders confronting the root issues of youth risk behaviour, unemployment and poverty, through uplifting their communities and imparting vision and purpose to present and future generations. gold-youth has a mission: To roll out quality youth peer education programmes in alignment to the gold Model thereby empowering youth peer leaders to become positive role models and agents of social and economic change. gold-youth uses the theory of youth peer education where positive peer pressure is structured to bring about sustained community change at scale through an ‘each one reach one’ approach. gold has an audacious goal: To develop ten million young African leaders with character and integrity to mobilise their generation with the knowledge, tools and support to reach their full potential, with concrete results in social behaviour change, education & job creation.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Computer skills – MS Office
• Planning and task management
• Good administration skills
• Ability to plan, organise and execute logistics
• Report writing
• People management skills
• Proofreading and good English Language skills
• Social media skills: writing posts, replying to comments, uploading correct image sizes
• Research skills: able to read widely on a topic and summarize relevant information
• (Not essential but nice to have): Wordpress knowledge: able to maintain website
• (Not essential but nice to have): Photography/videography skills
• (Not essential but nice to have): Graphic Design/Adobe Suite skills
• Attention to detail

• Able to take initiative
• Able to self-motivate and self-manage
• Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate change
• Passionate about youth and social change


Must be under 29 years of age.
Must have NOT been an intern with the YES4Youth programme before.
Must be able to start immediately and commit for 12 months.


Rondebosch, Cape Town. Partial remote work possible


Immediately for 12 month duration; 40 hours per week

Personal Development:

The intern will experience working with a great team on a big vision for Africa's young people, and come out with improved skills across the board in administration, coordination, media and communication.



Qualifying Criteria:

  • Minimum Education: NQF 4 (Gr12 / NCV4 / N3)
  • Education Categories: Any relevant field of study
  • SA Work Eligibility Required: Yes
  • Location: Only candidates currently living in Cape Town
